Popout chat gives you a compact, always-on-top session window so you can keep momentum while working outside the main app window.

What popout chat is

Popout chat is a lightweight companion window tied to an active session. It is designed for fast prompt/response loops while your main focus stays in another tool.

  • Always-on-top behavior keeps chat visible during external work.
  • Compact density view reduces UI noise.
  • Useful when coding in an IDE, browser devtools, design app, or terminal-heavy workflow.

Best usage pattern

  • Keep the popout for short operational prompts and quick follow-ups.
  • Use the main window for heavy context review, deep diff inspection, or broad session management.
  • Switch back to main window when approvals or complex controls are needed.

Operational notes

  • Popout works per session; opening it again for the same session focuses the existing window.
  • If onboarding or configuration is incomplete, finish setup in the main window first.
  • If a session becomes unavailable, reopen from the main app session list.
